What Can I Claim WorkCover For?
A WorkCover claim will compensate you for financial loss/loss of earnings, physical or psychological pain and suffering, medical/professional expenses and damage to/loss of property. EPA Health is covered by medical and professional expenses claims, giving clients access to accredited exercise physiology programs.
We can also assist you in seeking out additional help. Our goal is to give you the tools required to recovery and get back to a healthy work-life balance. To get started on your rehabilitation, contact your GP or call our team on 1300869169.
Do I Qualify for WorkCover?
If you are not sure whether you qualify for WorkCover, it’s important to research the eligibility requirements in your state. However, there are a few basic criteria that will likely allow you to make a claim. If you have been significantly injured while working or involved in a traumatic work incident causing PTSD, you will likely be entitled to compensation.
Similarly, if you have been exposed to dangerous chemicals, dusts or materials at work and are now seriously ill, you can also lodge a claim. This obviously extends to any situation where you or your loved one have been involved in a catastrophic or fatal work accident.
Addressing Mental Health With Holistic Exercise Treatments
Workplace injuries do not just impact an individual physically—they are often accompanied by reduced mental health as well as feelings of isolation and lack of purpose. On top of this, injured workers may be unable to take part in leisure activities that would otherwise boost their mood and help them connect with nature.
At EPA Health, we provide holistic treatments to WorkCover clients. Our goal is not only to get you physically healthy, but to create exercise programs that release endorphins and positively affect your mental health. Through tailored rehabilitation training, a routine is set, and you are provided with goals that you can begin working toward.
This process of targeting affected areas and reconditioning your body can have significant effects of your general well-being. As you establish more control over the affected limb, your brain creates new neural pathways, strengthening the mind-body connection. This can reduce feelings of depression, anxiety and powerlessness—helping the client re-gain or even exceed pre-injury levels of confidence.
